How we remember our Intrinsic Motivators using Slack
At EQIQ, we are trying different ways to keep our employees engaged and motivated during COVID-19 crisis. We have conducted surveys, have weekly all-company online Celebration Friday meetings where everyone shares their wins and celebrate them, a virtual office system, online team lunches and more.
Our latest successful initiative was the Attuned Motivator team sharing session. Attuned Motivator Profiles visualize individuals’ intrinsic motivation. In this session team members shared their own Motivator profiles and discussed differences and similarities within the team. Everyone enjoyed the sessions and left with a much deeper understanding of themselves and their teammates.
As a result, people are communicating more effectively in this remote work environment.
Some Feedback
“Now I understand why and how my colleagues act and communicate.”
“I got to know the team one step deeper and knowing their motivators helped me understand them in many ways. Attuned is a great guide for me especially since I just joined the team.”
“I like how we were given a chance to explain and talk about the motivators with the team instead of having the managers guess what my Motivators meant to me. “
“It was a great session but I already forgot my team’s Motivators! “
Notice the last comment.
Oh no, he is right and we needed to act quickly before everyone completely forgot what they learned!
Our solution: Slack Icons
To solve that problem, we decided to create motivator icons and use them on Slack, which is our internal communication tool.
Here are the 11 Attuned Motivator icons our designer created for Slack.
How to use Slack Motivator Icons
Using the “Set a Status” function of Slack, add your Top Motivator icon and write down your Top 3 Motivators in the text field. Then it will show your motivators as below.
Result:
Now it’s much easier to remember everyone’s Top Motivators!
If you would like to try this out with your team, just shoot me an email at miho.breen@attuned.ai.
I’m happy to send you the Slack Icons and share some best practices and tips with you.
